 Less than a month after gutting its £1 Xbox Game Pass trial, Microsoft has decided to remove it altogether for the second time this year. Microsoft really needs to make up its mind on whether it wants let people subscribe to Xbox Game Pass for just £1 for their first month or not. If you recall, back in March, Microsoft quietly removed this offer with no explanation, only to bring it back just four months later, and then halve it to just the first 14 days. Now, it's been deleted again and, funnily enough, just a few days before Starfield's early access period begins. Twitter user Wario64 was among the first to spot the offer's second removal over on Microsoft's US website. Having checked the UK website, we can confirm that no such offer is available here either, but precisely when it was removed is unclear. If new users want to subscribe to Game Pass, they'll need to fork over £8.99 a month on console or £7.99 a month on PC. For Game Pass Ultimate (which covers console and PC), it's £12.99 a month. This happening so soon before Starfield's early access launch is clearly intentional on Microsoft's part, although they haven't communicated any of these changes publicly and have just left it to fans to find out on themselves. Starfield is Microsoft's biggest launch of the year and given it's day one on Game Pass, the company is not going to want people playing it for just £1. Especially if they wind up deciding they don't like it enough to continue paying for Game Pass once the 14 days are up. Whether Microsoft has any intentions of bringing the offer back in a few months' time is anyone's guess. It's never communicated its removal/return in the past, leaving it up for everyone else to figure it out on their own.
