 It's a New Day for Monday Night Raw as the legendary WWE team made a surprise return this week. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, who haven't teamed up together on screen in six months, reunited on last night's episode to take old rivals The Viking Raiders in an epic surprise. Erik and Ivar had laid down an open challenge, and The New Day – sadly still without Big E as his future remains uncertain – answered the call to an amazing ovation from the fans. The entire crowd rose to their feet as the iconic music kicked in and the iconic duo danced their way to the ring. The joy on Kofi's face was clear to see as he made his first appearance since suffering a devastating ankle injury in February which ruled him out of WrestleMania 39. Meanwhile, New Day's win over the Viking Raiders marked Xavier's first match since a loss to Dominik Mysterio on Raw back in May. As a trio, the tandem have won 11 championships on the main roster, while their most recent success came in NXT when Kofi and Xavier captured the NXT Tag Team Titles. They went onto lose the gold to Gallus' Mark Coffey and Wolfgang at NXT Vengeance Day in February in a match also involving Chase U and current SmackDown stars Pretty Deadly. Meanwhile, Kofi and Xavier's teammate Big E recently admitted his doctors have suggested he shouldn't wrestle again after breaking his neck in a horror in-ring accident in March 2022. Speaking to media during a press conference before SummerSlam over the weekend, he said: 'We did the year check-up and all that stuff looked great, but on the other side, I also talked to spine specialists, people who have worked on other people in the company and done their fusions and they said, 'Hey, I would not wrestle again if I were you.' ' He added: 'For me, at 37, these are things that I think about. I think about quality of life.
