Wounded Ukrainian woke after interrogation to find Wagner troops ‘cut off my hands’

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT Ilya Mikhalchuk tank column was pounded by Wagner artillery near Bakhmut in February and he was captured by the bloodthirsty mercenaries, who then refused to give him medical treatment until the end of his drug-addled interrogation

A war-wounded Ukrainian soldier has recalled his gruelling so-called ‘treatment’ at the hand of Wagner mercenaries who chopped off his hands during interrogation.

Ilya Mikhalchuk was part of a column of Ukrainian military armored vehicles which was destroyed by Vladimir Putin’s former shadow army, Wagner PMC. After an anti-tank missile rained down on his vehicle, both his arms were mutilated, and he had to use a makeshift tourniquet to stem the blood flow.

His right arm had only fragments of sliced flesh while his left arm was severely wounded by missile shrapnel. Still reeling from the sustained bombardment and the intense pain searing through his body, Ilya laid on the ground as the Wagner troops approached him and shot him in both legs.

They removed the tourniquet, replacing it with rubber tubes and tying them so tight they couldn’t be removed later. Mikhalchuk is certain his left arm was not so seriously damaged and that it could have been saved, but due to the tight fastening of his captors’ restraints, the flesh turned black from necrosis.
