Women’s World Cup LIVE: Colombia face Jamaica as England find out quarter-final opponents

England are through to the quarter-finals and will be without Lauren James for at least the quarter-finals, and their opponent for that match will be decided this morning.

The Lionesses discover their quarter-final components today as Colombia face Jamaica in the penultimate match of the last-16 before France take on Morocco.

Ten-woman England scraped through to the next round of the Women’s World Cup after overcoming a Nigeria in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Sarina Wiegman’s side struggled to assert themselves on the contest across across both halves, with Nigeria smashing the crossbar twice and England fortunate not to see Lucy Bronze’s clumsy challenge in extra-time result in a penalty.

The frustration felt by the Lionesses was epitomised by Lauren James, who was sent off five minutes from full-time for standing on Michelle Alozie.
