NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Japan have joined Spain in the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup after a deserved win against Norway.
Spain booked their place in the last-eight with a simple victory against Switzerland earlier in the day.
Aitana Bonmati put Spain ahead in the first half but Laia Codina scored a humiliating own goal when she played a blind pack pass to her own goalkeeper, only to see the ball find the back of her net.
But Spain responded well by restoring their lead through Alba Redondo and Bonmati grabbed her second to put them 3-1 up.
