 Harry Kane has sent his congratulations to England's Lionesses after they beat Australia to reach the Women's World Cup final. Sarina Wiegman's side, who became European champions last year, knocked out joint-hosts Australia thanks to goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo. England will face Spain in Sunday's final as they look to secure the nation's second World Cup trophy and first since 1966. Kane watched the first-half of England's semi-final win before training with his new Bayern Munich teammates following last week's £86m move from Tottenham. 'Massive congratulations to the Lionesses,' said Kane, who has captained the England men's side since 2018. 'I was watching it and saw we went 1-0 up and then got pulled away [for training] but I saw it finished 3-1 so it sounds like a heck of a game. 'Massive congratulations, we're all behind them and hopefully they can do it in the final. I'll be watching the final out here obviously but I wish them all the best, they deserve it.' After a cagey start to the second semi-final in Sydney, Manchester United star Toone broke the deadlock with a superb finish. Chelsea striker Sam Kerr equalised for Australia with a long-range strike but England quickly regained their lead through Lauren Hemp. Hemp turned from scorer to provider to set up Alessia Russo late on as England put the game to bed and booked a place in Sunday's World Cup final. Lionesses boss Wiegman said: 'We achieved the final! Unbelievable, it feels like we won the whole thing but we didn't. 'An away game at this incredible stadium, it was a hard game but again, we found a way to win.
