Woman who gave birth to own granddaughter sad after being ‘separated’ from baby

Nancy Hauck, 56, offered to be a surrogate for her son, Jeff, 32, and his wife, Cambria, 30, after her daughter-in-law had a hysterectomy following the traumatic birth of their twins

A woman who gave birth to her own granddaughter says she felt ‘sad’ after being separated from the baby. Nancy Hauck, 56, carried her son’s baby after her daughter-in-law was left unable to carry a child – so she volunteered to be a surrogate.

Her son, Jeff Hauck, 32, couldn’t have another child as his wife, Cambria, 30, had a hysterectomy following the traumatic birth of their twins. The pair had already been struggling to conceive for six years before they had twins, Vera and Ayva, now three, and another set, Diseal and Luka, 11 months, via IVF.

But they still wanted another child and Nancy had ‘a feeling’ she was the one who should carry their baby – and now she’s given birth to her own granddaughter, who’s been named Hannah..
