 A woman who collapsed and died three weeks after being savaged by two Rottweilers had her own Labrador as guest of honour at her wedding. Marie Stevens, who loved dogs, wed her husband Mark with her chocolate Lab by their side, Facebook pictures show. Several friends and colleagues paid tribute to the 'bubbly and happy' 40-year-old care home worker, who was was found dead at home in Brighton-le-Sands in Merseyside on Sunday. Ms Stevens was bitten several times on her arms and legs by two Rottweilers in Park Lane West, Netherton, in Dudley on August 18, allegedly when she tried to stroke the dogs, who were on a lead. The owners, a man and a woman, reportedly tried to stop them. The man then took the dogs away from the scene while the woman stayed with Ms Stevens until police arrived. She was given first aid until an ambulance arrived and took her to hospital where she was treated and later discharged. A post mortem concluded the primary cause of her death was a pulmonary embolism, according to police. It is awful what has happened to her.' A colleague, Lainey Dawson added: 'I worked with Marie. Marie was such a joy she made everyone laugh with her cracking one liners. 'She knew how to brighten a day when it was dull. I'm thinking of her family and friends.' Another, Jailea Sophia, said: 'We worked together in a care home. Marie was a very bubbly and happy person. 'She used to make me smile and laugh everyday at work asking to wear my big fluffy coat on her breaks. I will miss her.'
