Ms Stevens was bitten after she "tried to stroke" the two dogs, who were on a leash at the time. Ms Stevens had been bitten multiple times. Paramedics rushed her to hospital and she was later sent home where she later died. Police arrested a 41-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog in a public place before both were bailed. Today, it emerged that Ms Stevens was such a dog lover that her own Labrador was the guest of honour when she tied the knot with her husband Steve. One friend told the MailOnline: "She really loved her dog and animals in general. It is awful what has happened to her." It comes as loved ones paid tribute to the joyful "animal lovers" who would "brighten a day when it was dull". Lainey Dawson said: "I worked with Marie. Marie was such a joy she made everyone laugh with her cracking one liners. She knew how to brighten a day when it was dull. I'm thinking of her family and friends." Jailea Sophia said: "We worked together in a care home. Marie was a very bubbly and happy person. She used to make me smile and laugh everyday at work asking to wear my big fluffy coat on her breaks.
