Woman sues sister for £500k for ‘cutting her out of mum’s will during lockdown’

Two sisters have faced off in London’s High Court after one accused the other of using the Covid lockdown to control their mother and cut her out of her will worth £500,000

Two sisters are facing off in a “seriously unusual” half a million pound court battle, with one claiming the other used the Covid lockdown to control their mother and cut her out of their late mum’s will.

Mum-of-five Julie Sinclair says her childless sister Helyn Sinclair told her on WhatsApp: “You have f**ked over my life for too long.”

A week later, in June 2021, their mum signed a new will leaving nearly all her £500,000 estate to Helyn.

Helyn was living with and caring for mum Betty at her home in Selsey, West Sussex, at the time, and Julie claims the situation gives rise to “suspicions” Helyn was behind the will and the sisters’ mum didn’t know what she was signing when she wrote Julie out.
