A woman was left flabbergasted after her sister-in-law cooked a roast dinner, despite knowing she was vegetarian, and when she went to look for an alternative meal, the cook blasted the woman for offending her
If you offer to cook for someone who is vegetarian, it probably goes without saying you should cook a veggie-friendly meal. Well, one woman who opted to prepare a roast chicken for a vegetarian relative was shocked to learn she wouldn’t try the dish.
But she was not the only one left surprised, as the vegetarian diner was left aghast when the cook slammed her decision, and called her “disrespectful” when she made herself an alternative meal. The trouble arose after the non-meat eater welcomed her brother and his wife to stay at her home. During their visit, her sister-in-law offered to cook for the group, but the disagreement over dinner quickly turned ugly.
Baffled by her guest’s reaction, the vegetarian diner took to Reddit to ask for advice, where people were shocked to learn someone had insisted she eat meat in her own home.
In her anonymous post, the 28-year-old from New York explained she has been vegetarian for over ten years and it is a choice all her family know about and respect. However, she was left in a difficult position when her brother, 24, and his wife, 25, came to visit.
