The defendant, of Glanamman, Carmarthenshire, was spared jail though, as her 22-month jail term was suspended on Friday. She admitted actual bodily harm. The judge was told the attack was only stopped when by chance as another car drove past and James' victim was able to seek help. James, who had been in a relationship with the victim for four years, has been spared jail ( WALES NEWS SERVICE) She was treated in hospital for bruising and lacerations to her ears and scalp but tests showed no skull fractures. James' victim said the attack had left her "struggling in everyday life" with headaches, flashbacks and nightmares and that she felt she may never get over what happened. Andrew Evans, defending, said James was "genuinely remorseful" for what happened. In addition to the suspended sentence, James must carry out a rehabilitation course and pay her victim £750 in compensation.){kind=link}
