 A walker was trampled to death by a herd of cows as she led her dogs through a farmland field, police have said. The woman was walking her dogs on a public path through the field of 40 cows when the incident happened. The tragedy happened in the countryside near the village of Guilsfield, Welshpool, on the evening of September 1. Dyfed-Powys Police said the woman's family had been informed and the Health and Safety Executive were notified. A HSE spokesperson added: 'We are aware of this incident and making enquiries.' It is not the only cow-related incident in Wales in recent years. In 2021 a woman was badly injured when she was attacked by a herd of cows that have free rein in a Welsh village. The tourist, who is in her 30s, was left with a broken arm when the cow flicked its head and hit her. People in the village of Southgate on the Gower peninsula, south Wales, have been warned in the past that the cows are becoming more comfortable with humans.
