Monica De Leon Barba, who was kidnapped in Mexico eight months ago, has been safely released by her captors and is en route to the United States, while the FBI continues investigating
A woman who was kidnapped and held captive in Mexico for eight agonising months has been released, the FBI says.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) rescued Monica De Leon Barba, a Mexican woman whose ordeal came to an end on the night of July 14, 2023, when her captors finally released her.
The FBI says it is now working to uncover the identity of those responsible.
The heart-wrenching saga began on November 29, 2022, in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico, when Monica was abducted while walking home from work with her loyal canine companion by her side.
