Content creator Tricia, who regularly uploads videos about her various hiking and outdoor adventures, shared her dismay with her TikTok followers, calling out for "help", and opening up an impassioned discussion about armrest etiquette. In a video shared to TikTok, Tricia, who goes by the username @triciasfu, could be seen unable to use either of her two armrests, as the people on either side of her had already claimed them for themselves. Appearing decidedly less than relaxed as she settled in for the flight, fed-up Tricia sighed: "If you're in the middle seat of a plane, shouldn't you at least get one armrest by default? Someone send help." Many of her followers agreed, and were pretty miffed on her behalf. A number of people even believed that the person in the middle should automatically get both armrests, due to it being the least desirable seat. One person commented: "I was taught that if you're in the middle you get both armrests since the window seat has the window, and the other has more space." Another agreed: "You get BOTH! I'm pretty sure it's the law. The window can lean towards a view and the aisle can go pee when they want. The LAW!" A third person advised: "Excuse yourself to use the loo and when you get back, pinch the armrest before he has a chance to sit back down."
