Teenage crushes are something most of us would like to forget so one woman was stunned when she found a love letter her younger self had written in a charity shop haul
A woman was surprised when she found a love letter in a charity shop – but that turned to shock when she realised that she had written it years before, and given it to her boyfriend as a teen. Kaylee Powell instantly recognised the collage on the front and knew what the item was, even though the sentimental message had been covered.
She took it home and scraped the paint off the back and sure enough, she found the words she had written as a youth. She shared her find on TikTok and people were left speechless by the discovery. Taking to TikTok, where she uploads as @steamgeekcreations, Kaylee wrote: “We were at our local Goodwill and walking past the shelf when we stumbled across this, which is a piece I made 10 years ago for my high school boyfriend.
“You can see that he painted over my love letter but that’s where my signature was. I want to buy it, I want to see if I can fix it up and if I can unveil the love letter I wrote.” She then took the item home and used a razor to scrape the paint off the back and soon the love letter was revealed.
Kelly then read out the letter which she had written years before, which went: “I honestly can’t believe that it’s only been a couple of weeks. “The memories we’ve made, the mornings we’ve shared and the love I’ve gained are priceless. I really don’t know what you see in me, I don’t know why you care, but I’m just so glad you’ve found something you find worthwhile in me, and I’m so glad and thankful that I can call you mine.
