 A woman has died weeks after she was attacked by two Rottweilers. Marie Stevens was found dead at her home in Holden Road, in Brighton-le-Sands, on September 3. On August 18, the 40-year-old was attacked by two Rottweilers and bitten multiple times on her arms and legs. The attack allegedly happened as Ms Stevens 'tried to stroke' the dogs, who were on a lead, on Park Lane West, in Netherton. It was reported that the dog owners, a man and a woman, tried to stop the Rottweilers. The man then took the dogs away from the scene while the woman stayed with the victim until police arrived. Marie was given first aid until an ambulance arrived and took her to hospital where she was treated and later discharged. A 41-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog in a public place. Today, almost three weeks on from the attack, Merseyside Police confirmed Ms Stevens had been found dead at home. A spokesperson for the force said: 'Just after 9.10am on Sunday 3 September, police were called by the North West Ambulance Service to Ms Stevens' home on Holden Road, in Brighton-le-Sands to a report she had collapsed and sadly died at home.'
