Woman, 34, learns she has aggressive ovarian cancer while freezing her eggs

A Chicago woman learned she had an ‘aggressive’ form of early-stage ovarian cancer after she went in to try and freeze her eggs. Five years later, she’s in remission and trying to start a family

A woman went in to get her eggs frozen – unsure if, at the age of 34, she wanted to have children yet. But she wanted to preserve that option. Then, a shocking diagnosis turned her world upside down.

When the doctors performed an ultrasound on her, checking to make sure she was healthy and that her body could support the medicine that she would be given to stimulate her ovaries, they found a large cyst.

“It was a big shock to me,” Morgan Bellock, now 40, told TODAY.com about the discovery, which was made in 2017. “I didn’t know there was a giant ovarian cyst just sitting on one of my ovaries.”
