Wolverhampton Wanderers increasingly confident of making a breakthrough in the next few days with talks now progressing well
Wolves are hopeful of finally completing their protracted pursuit of Julen Lopetegui later this week.
Lopetegui is back in talks over the role of head coach and it is understood Wolves are increasingly confident of making a breakthrough for their No 1 target in the next few days.
The former Sevilla manager reluctantly rejected Wolves’ approach last month to care for his father, who is suffering with poor health, but has now alerted the club that he is open to the prospect of taking the job.
Wolves have endured problems after the dismissal of Bruno Lage, making approaches to Lopetegui and Queens Park Rangers head coach Michael Beale, and interviewing a number of other candidates including Peter Bosz, Rob Edwards and Anthony Barry.
