 The new plush toy from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is 10¼ inches long and looks like it really shouldn't be photographed from certain angles. Hats off to whatever photographer managed to take these photos and keep a straight face. We're not saying what the new Wiglett Poké Plush looks like, because you can see for yourself, but… wow. Wiglett is a distant cousin to the Gen I pokémon Diglett and is inspired by the garden eel and other real-world aquatic creatures. In Scarlet and Violet it looks perfect innocent, but the photos on the official Pokémon Center store are hard to keep a straight face about. In theory, the photos are trying to show that the plushie is poseable, but the only poses anyone bothered with are fully erect and for some reason most of them are taken from behind, so you can't see Wiglett's eyes – just his big pink nose. That kind of makes it seems like they've been done on purpose, either that or everyone involved is ultra naïve and had no idea what Twitter would do once they saw it. In theory, there's nothing unusual about the plushie, as toys are made of all pokémon at some point, even if Wiglett doesn't seem all that cuddly. Oddly, this isn't the first time that The Pokémon Company has been embroiled in talk of phallic imagery, after some unfortunate pre-release shots of Miraidon got misinterpreted. The publisher never responded to that and are unlikely to do so for this either, although if the photos suddenly all change to something less provocative, that wouldn't be a surprise.
