Why Pep Guardiola won’t be in the Man City dugout again for Wolves clash

Manchester City head to Molineux looking to continue their perfect start to the new Premier League season as they take on Gary O’Neil’s struggling Wolves side

Pep Guardiola will be forced to watch his Manchester City side from the stands when they take on Wolves on Saturday lunchtime.

The Premier League champions have made a perfect start to the new season and will fancy their chances of continuing that run against a Wolves side struggling under Gary O’Neil. However, their manager won’t be prowling the touchline as he usually does after being slapped with a one-match suspension

The City boss has been sanctioned after picking up three yellow cards in the early weeks of the new campaign. After being cautioned in their opening day win at Burnley, he received two more in the games against Nottingham Forest and then Newcastle. The Premier League have reduced their threshold for a ban to three cards in a bid to deter abuse against the officials.

Speaking after his yellow at St. James’ Park he said: “I don’t know how many fouls they did, how many fouls we had and the number of yellow cards. But it is what it is, sometimes the emotions are there. Respect for the referees and their job. A well-deserved yellow card.”
