 Dame Judi Dench, 88, has revealed the secret to her continued success after more than 60 years in showbusiness. The veteran actress, who famously won an Oscar for her turn as Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love with only eight minutes of screentime, has also enjoyed great acclaim for her work as M in the James Bond franchise, Queen Victoria in Mrs Brown and her performance in Sir Kenneth Branagh's Belfast in 2021 – which netted her eighth Academy Award nomination. Despite struggles with her deteriorating eyesight in recent years though, Dame Judi shows no sign of slowing down, recently sharing that she likes to pretend she is over 30 years younger than she really is, at 56. 'We've got to keep going and not think of age too much. You have to think you are about 56,' she explained. 'Also, I don't make a point of keeping fit. I am very bad at that,' the star admitted. Dame Judi is set to appear as a special guest on the new series of Portrait Artist of the Year on Sky Arts, where she will sit for four hours and be painted by 10 previous winners, all vying for her approval. She also recalled a funny past occasion where she'd fallen asleep on stage during a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream because 'we'd been there a long time'.
