It is New York Fashion Week, yet behind the sunglasses the front row gaze is trained not on the models stomping down its catwalks but the comings and goings along the corridors of power at Vogue.
On Thursday night Anna Wintour and the outgoing editor of the British edition, Edward Enninful, will co-host Vogue World at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, a black-tie celebration of the nation’s arts, fashion and culture. Think the annual Royal Variety Performance, but with more queens.
All the £150 tickets – some given free to students, and profits going to performing arts organisations – are long since sold out and there is a waiting list for seats. The magazine is said to be flying in its top-tier Vogue100
