Donald Trump’s former personal attorney said he expects to be named as one of six co-conspirators in the indictment
Rudy Giuliani has said he expects to be named as one of six co-conspirators in the indictment against former president Donald Trump.
The indictment made public on Tuesday mentions the group, who prosecutors say worked with Mr Trump in seeking to overturn the 2020 election, without identifying them by name.
But Mr Giuliani’s lawyer Robert J Costello acknowledged that it “appears that Mayor Giuliani is alleged to be co-conspirator No 1”.
Co-conspirator 1 is described in the indictment as an “attorney who was willing to spread knowingly false claims and pursue strategies that the defendant’s 2020 re-election campaign would not”.
