White Lotus star Connie Britton pays tribute to Maui amid wildfires with unseen snaps

The tragic wildfires ravaging the Hawaiian island of Maui this week has seen thousands of resident forced to evacuate, hundreds missing and the death toll continuing to rise.

Connie Britton has shared behind-the-scenes snaps from The White Lotus to pay tribute to the devastating wildfires ravaging the Hawaiian island of Maui.

With the death toll currently at 55 and expected to rise, thousands of residents and tourists have been evacuated, and horror scenes erupted as various people jumped into the ocean to avoid the scorching brush fires that broke out on Tuesday on the resort island. And actress Connie was overcome with emotion as she paid tribute to the island where she had spent a lengthy amount of time in 2020 while filming for the Emmy-winning series created by Mike White.

Sharing snaps alongside the show’s production crew and her co-stars, such as Sydney Sweeney, Murray Bartlett and Lukas Gagas, she began: “Maui. My heart is broken. Your loss is all of our loss. Your generous island and shores held us so lovingly when we shot @thewhitelotus during covid in 2020. And now we send massive love and strength for recovery during this unbearable time. You will always be a brilliant gleaming gem with a gorgeous heart and unbreakable spirit. #maui.”
