DRIVERS have been saved from more petrol price rises today as there were no changes for fuel duty in todays’ Autumn Statement.
It means no tax hikes for petrol and diesel until the next Budget at least – expected to be in March next year.
The Sun has succeeded in getting fuel duty frozen for 12 years in a row – and the Chancellor even cut it by 5p earlier this year.
But electric car and van drivers face paying more tax in future.
Jeremy Hunt revealed plans for them to pay road tax after 2025 in a bid to fill the hole left by a switch to new EVs.
