The pub chain axed Strongbow and other brands in 2021 (Image: Getty) Wetherspoons bid farewell to the Strongbow Original and Dark Fruits in 2021, along with John Smith products. The ciders were replaced by Stowford Press Apple and Stowford Press mixed berries after the pub chain ended its 41-year association with Heineken International and signed a 20-year deal with Budweiser. Fosters, Kronenbourg 1664 and Heineken were also replaced by Corona, Budweiser and Leffe Blonde, which is supplied by Anheuser-Busch InBev, according to National World. However, customers have now rejoiced at the news of the return of Strongbow which was effective as of Wednesday, August 2. Not all JD Wetherspoons pubs have restocked the popular cider brand just yet, but punters won’t have to wait long. However, the majority of JD Wetherspoons’ 826 sites will welcome both ciders back to the menu. Customers should be able to get their hands on the fruity drinks by the end of August 2023 at the latest, while the rollout takes place. Customers can buy Strongbbow via the app or at the bar (Image: Getty) The drinks will be available to order from the app and at the bar, though the price is yet to be confirmed. A pint of Strongbow’s replacement, Stowford Press, currently retails for £2.43 in London via the app. However, menu prices differ across the nation to reflect the varying running costs of its different pubs, according to a Wetherspoons spokesperson. The return of Strongbow products isn’t the only major shake-up to the pub chain’s menus. Just yesterday it was revealed that selected JD Wetherspoons branches would now charge upwards of £7 for a pint. Draught Leffe beer is now priced at £7.10 in major UK airports including Gatwick, Stanstead, Edinburgh and Heathrow, as reported by the Sun. Despite being renowned for its famously low prices, the hospitality company is creeping up in prices, with Stella Artois, San Miguel and Corona now marked at £6.45-a-pint in some pubs.
