Manchester United paid Leicester City £80m for Maguire in 2019 so it is yet to be seen whether they feel £30m is enough to tempt them to sell the England defender. There is also the possibility that Maguire may not want to move as West Ham will be very unlikely to match the huge wages he receives at Old Trafford, a salary which increased due to the Red Devils qualifying for the Champions League. However, he will be offered regular first team football by West Ham, which is no longer on offer at Manchester United after falling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag. West Ham are having a busy time in the transfer market after agreeing a deal for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, with the Mexican set to join on a five-year contract. The Hammers are still pursuing another midfielder after failing to agree a deal for Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, and still hope to bring in Scott McTominay from Manchester United.
