The amusing story has resurfaced following the sad news of Jimmy's death, aged 76. He died on Friday night (September 1), surrounded by his loved ones. A statement posted on the Margaritaville icon's social media channels read: 'Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. 'He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.' Jimmy was worth an estimated $550million (£437m) as of 2016, according to Forbes, having become 'a well-preserved businessman' thanks to his hit songs, merchandise, chain restaurants, resorts, and gated communities. Meanwhile, Warren's worth is, erm… $83billion (£66bn). Alas, the two Buffetts were not related, but they continued to share a strong bond, remaining good friends and even referring to one another as 'Uncle Warren' and 'Cousin Jimmy.' The story was first reported by the New York Times in 2018 and, despite the results being negative, this didn't stop Warren, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and fifth-wealthiest person in the world, from wanting to be in his friend's will.
