NEIGHBOURS are fighting a council’s plans to paint yellow lines in front of a proposed Wetherspoons – ripping out their parking.
Cambridgeshire County Council is considering a no waiting at any time restriction along St Mary’s Street in Ely, Cambs.
The move would see Monday to Saturday’s 30 minute waiting period – from 8am and 6pm – taken away for locals.
But residents say the plans could help Wetherspoons open a pub as yellow lines would allow the chain to unload deliveries.
The boozer previously failed to provide “adequate” loading facilities for deliveries in a 2021 planning application, which could have led to the road being blocked.
