BRITS could face even higher food prices after Vladimir Putin choked off grain exports today, a Whitehall source has warned.
Putin could stave the west of vital supplies after “peddling lies” accusing the British Royal Navy of helping Ukraine carry out drone attacks in the Black Sea, an official said.
The Ministry of Defence report that Putin has decided to collapse the UN-brokered grain deal – which was only signed in July – as he looks to deflect from his disastrous invasion of Ukraine.
And although ministers are set to reassure the public that Britain’s food supply is secure, they have warned that his actions “will have an impact.”
“If you restrict the export of that good, the price of that good increases, and that is felt across the entire world,” the source told the Telegraph.
