VMAs host Nicki Minaj suffers wardrobe malfunction in bridal-themed Barbie look

Nicki Minaj was very much the main character with her look at the Video Music Awards 2023 on Tuesday night. The 40-year-old returned as the ceremony’s host for a second year and certainly got people talking about her bridal-themed look. Rapper Nicki put on a very busty display, rocking a figure-hugging silk corset with a see-through fish-tail style bottom half. Adding to her style, which was seemingly a nod to her Barbie nickname, she opted for a matching lace veil over her face. Not one to do things by halves, Nicki also stood out with very smokey pink eye make-up look to match, plus dramatic eyelashes. In the ceremony, however, she shed light on a wardrobe malfunction happening under her floor-length attire. Speaking on stage, she said: “I just realised that one of my motherf***ing shoes wasn’t buckled properly,” before the camera zoomed in at her feet. Nicki seemingly went on to address concerns MTV had about what she might say on stage. She added: “I said, ‘It’s okay MTV I can control myself because if you can’t control yourself, you can’t control anything else’.” Nicki Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she took to the stage for hosting duties (Image: GETTY) The Superbass hitmaker shared various pictures of her look from the evening on her social media page, captioning the snaps: “DOLCE & GABARBIE #MTVVMA’s.” Many of her 226 million followers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts. TheMarcyDiaz wrote: “YOUUUUUUUUUU KILLED THIS LOOK.” OnikaZone commented: “YASSSS QUEEN U LOOK AMAZING!!!! Other highlights included Taylor Swift bagging nine of the awards, including the gong for video of the year and song of the year for her track Anti-hero. Fans also went wild following a surprise appearance by NSYNC, who haven’t been onstage together for 10 years.  The group, fronted by Justin Timberlake, are rumoured to be creating new music for the third installment of the Trolls film franchise.
