A police car was involved in a gruesome looking crash with an ambulance in Reading which left both drivers in hospital, with Thames Valley Police appealing for witnesses. Dramatic pictures showed the police car on its roof, with the ambulance also clearly a write-off. The crash occurred at about 6.30pm last night on Southampton Street at its junction with Pell Street and Crown Street. The marked police Vauxhall Vivaro and marked ambulance Skoda were both under emergency blue light conditions at the time. The driver and passenger in the police vehicle and the driver of the ambulance sustained minor injuries and were all taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading for treatment, where they remain at this time.
