The woman in her 30s was said to have been walking in Ipswich in the early hours of Friday morning when the horror unfolded. 1 A woman was allegedly raped by two men in the early hours of Friday while walking in Ipswich She was said to have been taken into bushes by two men who attacked her, before fleeing the area. The cops are now urgently trying to track down the alleged attackers. Suffolk Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a report that a woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Ipswich. "The incident took place in the very early hours of Friday 29 September, sometime between midnight and 1:30am, near to a towpath close to the stake park at Stoke Bridge in the town centre. "The victim, a woman in her 30s, reported being taken into some bushes close to the towpath by two men. The victim was then raped, and the offenders left the scene. "A police scene is currently in place as enquiries into the full circumstances of the incident continue. "The victim is being supported by specially trained officers. "Local officers are conducting patrols in the area and anyone with any concerns are encouraged to speak with them. "Detectives are currently progressing a number of lines of enquiry to identify the suspect/s, and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has CCTV footage in the area or noted any other suspicious activity around the time of the offence, to contact police, quoting reference 37/57274/23."
