United Airlines flights grounded nationwide as passengers left fuming

A major outage in United Airlines’ systems affecting all airports where the airline operates has led to a nationwide ground stop of all flights with scores of travellers waiting for an update

Multiple flights across the US were grounded as hundreds of users reported an outage in United Airline’s systems. The ground stop has now been lifted, according to the airline.

An earlier advisory from the Federal Aviation Administration alerted passengers of the outage impacting United Airlines. A total of 693 users reported the outage on downdetector.com.

United Airlines said in an announcement: “We are experiencing a systemwide technology issue and are holding all aircraft at their departure airports.

“Flights that are already airborne are continuing to their destination as planned. We will share more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience as we work on a resolution to get you on your way as soon as possible.”
