He told The Sun : 'When it's summer time and you are sitting on the sea front or in a bar and the sun is shining, after a few drinks you could squint and think it's Ibiza, for sure." While Ibiza is popular with the creative community, Margate has also proven to be so in recent years, according to society magazine Tatler, and this has drawn comparisons between the two areas. Music producer Chris Hayden, who has lived in Margate since 2014, owns a tequila and mescal bar and agrees that the town is like Ibiza. The 41-year-old said: 'Through the summer it's one of the hottest places in the country. Every town has its ups and downs and that's part of the charm."
