The UK has warned Russia of ‘severe consequences’ if it uses nuclear weapons during the war in Ukraine.
Foreign secretary James Cleverly said that President Vladimir Putin going nuclear would ‘fundamentally change’ the conflict amid simmering concerns about a major escalation.
The UK government has long been critical of the Russian Government over the invasion, but today Mr Cleverly branded discredited claims about Ukraine planning to use radiological bombs on its own soil ‘absurd’.
