UK to be drenched with rain before temperatures soar to blistering 30C heat in days

Brits are bracing themselves for muddle weather in the next 24 hours with first a yellow warning for rain covering swathes of the country, followed by 30C temperatures later on

Brits fearing the worst for tomorrow morning have been reassured 30C temperatures are on their way for parts of the UK.

A yellow rain warning is in place for northern England and Wales on Monday, with risks of flooding and disruption to infrastructure and transport ruining commuters’ mornings. Weather maps show a band of rain sweeping in from the southwest late on Sunday before sweeping across much of the nation.

The warning is in force for a large area covering Wales and the north of England, and applies from midnight until 9pm. However, once the rain subsides, temperatures are set to soar in parts of the country, with southern England reaching 30C by the weekend.

Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst said the warning runs through the early hours of Monday morning and into the evening, ending at 9pm and temperatures should remain between 18C and 23.
