Two easyJet flights, one departing from and the other flying into a major UK airport, have both been diverted after declaring separate “emergencies”.

Holidaymakers jetting off from Manchester Airport to Enfidha in Tunisia on Friday morning were forced to turn back due to a ‘technical issue.’

The plane took off shortly before 8am.

However, the pilot transmitted a 7700 squawk code not long after the plane’s departure, declaring a general emergency as it flew over Oxfordshire.
