NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Britain’s shortest-serving prime minister has nominated 14 people to receive honours – but the list could have been longer.
Liz Truss only managed to last in the top job for 49 days, but despite this she was still able to submit resignation honours.
Currently there are 14 people on her resignation honours list – and at least two people turned down nominations from the former PM, The Times was told.
One of them felt it would be ‘humiliating’ to receive an honour from Truss, while the other said they didn’t feel they deserved it. The identities of the two people who turned down awards are not yet known.
