 Two men who were hanging on for dear life to a 16th floor window ledge of a tower block as a fire raged inside were miraculously brought to safety. The pair were left dangling from the building after they were forced to flee the block of council flats when the fire broke out. Dramatic footage captured the moment firefighters and a police officer managed to rescue the men from Twinnell House in Bristol. Tragically one man – Abdul Jabar Oryakhel – had already fallen to his death in a desperate attempt to escape the blaze. But the two other men were holding on to the outside of the ledge before they were pulled to safety and survived. PC Justin Robbie's bodycam video showed him bravely smash the block's corridor windows with his truncheon to get to the men after storming the building to reach them. A firefighter then proceeds to kick in the window frame to make space for the men to climb through and escape the fire. The police officer was subsequently nominated for a National Police Bravery Award for his actions in the early hours of September 25 last year. PC Justin Robbie, said: 'It is an honour to be recognised with this nomination but, like all officers, we don't do it for the awards. 'I acted on my training and my automatic response kicked in.
