Trump ‘urged’ by advisers to name bitter rival as 2024 Republican running mate

Reports suggest Donald Trump has been ‘urged’ by some of his advisers to name bitter rival Ron DeSantis as his 2024 running mate. Neither Trump nor DeSantis has announced a 2024 presidential bid

Donald Trump has reportedly been advised to name Florida governor Ron DeSantis as his running mate for his expected presidential bid for 2024.

The former president is believed to be angry at some of the people close to him, including his wife Melania, after he was given – what he sees – as poor advice before the Midterms.

His position as the most likely person to secure the candidacy in the Republican primary came under threat after an expected Republican red wave became more of a red ripple.

Trump-endorsed Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr Mehmet Oz lost in his race up against John Fetterman, and while the GOP looks set to take control of the House of Representatives, the Senate race still hangs in the balance.
