The former president said it was ‘really bad out there’ as Democrat Katie Hobbs wins the closely fought race
Donald Trump appeared to cast doubt over the result of the Arizona governor election, saying it had been “taken away” from his protege Kari Lake.
In a high-profile and controversial campaign, Ms Lake had called herself “Trump in a dress” and became a potential running mate for Mr Trump in 2024.
She eventually lost her closely fought race, which was called a week after election day for Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Following the loss Ms Lake, a former TV anchor, did not immediately concede.
