Humberside Police officers responded to a house in Elm Way at around 12.40am. A 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Clair's family have been informed of her death and are being supported by specialist officers, said police, who have launched a murder investigation. A murder investigation has been launched, reports GrimsbyLive. The mum and owner of Oliver's beauty salon, was well-respected in the North Lincolnshire village. A woman claiming to be Clair's cousin said in a social media tribute: "Rest in peace beautiful my heart is broken, can't believe my beautiful cousin has gone, what a cruel world." While a neighbour who knew her said: "Clair was friendly and always spoke to me when we were out walking the dogs. "I just can't believe this has happened right on our doorstep. You see it on the television, but I'm very surprised to see it outside my house." Others who knew her simply cried when asked about Clair, who was also a talented skydiver and regularly took part in jumps at the local centre at Hibaldstow. Another Messingham business owner added: "I just can't believe it, I've only ever seen this sort of thing on the news. The whole thing is just such a shock." Cops confirmed a scene guard will remain in place at the property for a number of days whilst the circumstances surrounding the murder are established.
