Tributes have poured in for a “much loved” eight-year-old girl “with an infectious giggle” who tragically died following a road crash in Northern Ireland.
Scarlett Rossborough, who is from the Larne area of Co Antrim, was among a group of children who were visiting Carrickfergus when the incident happened last Wednesday at around 11.40am.
Police said they attended with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance, but Scarlett died at the scene. A second child was also injured during the collision and remains in the hospital but the condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Scarlett went to Linn Primary School which said it was “devastated” to hear of the accident. A Facebook message stated: “Everyone connected with Linn Primary School is devastated to hear about the sudden death of our much-loved pupil Scarlett.
