Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has written a public goodbye letter to Jordan Henderson after the captain’s exit from Anfield to Saudi Arabia was confirmed
Trent Alexander-Arnold has sent an emotional farewell message to outgoing Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson ahead of his move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.
Henderson was reportedly offered a ridiculous £700,000 per week wage to join the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittifaq â managed by his former Reds teammate Steven Gerrard. His long-term Anfield teammate Fabinho is also set to move to the Middle East, with a deal agreed with Saudi champions Al-Ittihad.
Al-Ettifaq will pay around £13m for Henderson, who has ended his trophy laden 12 years on Merseyside. The 33-year-old won eight trophies at the club, including the Champions League trophy in 2019 and the club’s long-awaited Premier League title the following year.
Henderson has been a regular for the Reds in those successes, clocking up 492 appearances for Liverpool â whom he joined from Sunderland in 2011. Not only was he a teammate with Alexander-Arnold at club level, but on the international stage with England too.
