Tottenham’s Harry Kane ‘buy-back clause’ details revealed after Levy speak out

Tottenham reportedly do not have a traditional buy-back clause for Harry Kane , despite club chairman Daniel Levy suggesting that his side can bring back their No 9 when they desire. The England international joined Bayern Munich over the summer in a deal worth £100million and penned a four-year deal at the Allianz Arena, though he may not see out his contract at the club. Spurs were reluctant to part ways with Kane this summer but eventually facilitated his exit after it became clear that he would not sign a new deal in North London and was willing to entertain interest from top clubs. Manchester United and Real Madrid were among the sides to reportedly make contact with Tottenham about signing Kane, before – after weeks of negotiations – Bayern secured the signature of their top target. Speaking at a fan forum, Levy revealed that Tottenham ensured that a ‘buy-back clause’ was inserted into the deal so that the England international could return to the club further down the line. However, there is more to the statement than meets the eye. Therefore, Spurs do not know the exact fee required to bring back the 30-year-old and could be priced out of the move if fresh bids are tabled by wealthy clubs. Additionally, Bayern remain in full control of the situation as the clause only becomes active if they are planning on accepting a bid.
