Tottenham transfer exit for Davinson Sanchez wrecked by Russia’s war in Ukraine as Premier League fires warning

TOTTENHAM will have to prove to the UK government that Spartak Moscow’s money for the Sanchez deal has not come from a source hit with sanctions due to the war with Ukraine.

The wantaway centre-back has been in talks over a £13m move to Spartak, but Spurs could be hit with a legal issue if they pursue the deal.

While Prem chiefs are ready to tell Tottenham they would prefer them to avoid a controversial transfer, they do not have the power to stop the move.

It comes after sanctions were placed on Russia amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, which saw a massive escalation in early 2022.

These sanctions included the freezing of Russian assets in the UK.
