Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has again been singled out for criticism following his side’s Champions League draw against Sporting Lisbon. It is the second successive match Lloris has come under scrutiny after an error in Sunday’s loss to Newcastle.Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw against Sporting, suffering late VAR heartache. Antonio Conte’s side thought they had won the game deep in stoppage time when Harry Kane scored from close range.But a lengthy VAR review deemed the England captain to have been in an offside position. Sporting led at half-time through a long-range effort from former Spurs academy star Marcus Edwards.Lloris was unable to get down low to his left to keep the strike out. Lloris has got to do better. Honestly, if you’re on that team at half-time, you’re saying ‘come on keeper, you’re killing us, you’ve got to do better’. Look how far away it was.”But then second half he makes these saves, it’s hard with Lloris. He makes some great saves and then some shots you expect him to save, you’ve got to save that first goal for me.”Former Tottenham forward Alan Brazil admits he is worried about Lloris’ form.
