Tottenham scheduling two medicals with £56m double transfer agreement imminent

Tottenham are set to sign Micky van de Ven (Image: Getty) Tottenham are on the verge of sealing two further summer signings in the form of Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz. Agreements are now on the verge of completion for the duo, who are expected to undergo medical checks in the coming days. Spurs have already wrapped up six deals in the form of Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Manor Solomon and imminent new arrival Ashley Phillips. And more are on the way as The Athletic are reporting that a £43million agreement with Wolfsburg is set to be sealed for defender Van de Ven. Personal terms are already agreed with the highly-rated Dutchman who has already held talks with boss Ange Postecoglou. After weeks of slow and steady talks, Tottenham have now shown a willingness to table the cash required to land their centre-back target. Alejo Veliz is set to join Tottenham from Rosario Central (Image: Getty) They are now expected to walk away from a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba despite suggestions in Germany that they could launch a bid. Elsewhere, 19-year-old Rosario Central forward Veliz is also due to undergo a medical. Spurs are set to sign the teenager for around £13m and he could yet return to Argentina on loan for the rest of the season. He would then travel to England in January to join up with his new team-mates although it’s highly likely he will be set for another loan move. It’s still no formality that he will be rejoining Rosario on loan, either as there has been talk he could be set to arrive at Spurs for the upcoming season. Veliz has struck 11 times in 23 outings in the Argentine Primera Division this term and is regarded as one of the best forward prospects in South America. Postecoglou could still look to bring in another central-defender after Van de Ven. Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo remains a player firmly under consideration after entering the final year of his deal in west London. Further recruits could also be dependent on outgoings particularly in attack as Bayern Munich continue to push for Harry Kane. Brennan Johnson is one of the names that will fall under consideration if Kane leaves the club for Bavaria. Tottenham are trying to shift the likes of Hugo Lloris, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon. Bryan Gil and Japhet Tanganga can also leave the club and have been the subject of talks with Sevilla and Besiktas, respectively.
